Tibet is magical. The most magical place I have ever visited. It makes you cry on your first day there.

The kind people dressed in their colourful clothes, the pilgrims, the chilly nights in Lhasa. The young monks debating in courtyards, clapping and shouting when making a point. Haaa!

And during the about week long trip from Lhasa to Kathmandu I met monks in monasteries, sat in Buddhist services, and drank a lot of yak butter tea in dusty guest houses. Alot of smiles and laughter.

Ever present in the clothing is the tourqoise. Seen everywhere in Tibet. It brings happiness to it’s owner if given with love. It also changes colour, it is said it can show the health status of the owner as it absorbes oils from your skin. The colour changes and signifies the development of wisdom as well as the cycle of life and death- Death is always a part of life in Tibetan teachings.

Thus, the earrings inspired by Tibet are tourqoise, they have lotus flower shapes and I feel they had to have a golden lining.
